Dao Dock at Canary Wharf. Urban Garden Fair, May 2026

I have done this market a few times now. Each time I set up the same table but I also improved my presentation as I went, learning from each event. Drip coffee boxes stacked, the tasting pack in the basket, drip bags laid out by origin. By the time the market opened at noon, people were already walking in.

Urban Garden Fair is run by two people from Hong Kong, Angie and Irene. They bring South East Asian culture to London. The flavours, the festive spirit, and a genuine sense of community in one place. This time they set up an air-filled castle at Canary Wharf, open and bright, with a garden feel to it. The weather was good.

Some customers were new, people who stopped at the table, asked questions, tried the tasting, and walked away with a box. Some were regulars who came back to restock. One person spotted the table from across the room, said "here is Dao Dock," and came straight over. You set up enough times and eventually the brand starts to find its people.

Angie and Irene have been welcoming from the start. There is something good about a market run by people who genuinely care about the traders they bring in.

It felt surreal standing there at the end of the day. These moments outside the normal routine, every step worth something.
